Handwoven Amilie Midi Dress created in Naturally-dyed Indigo Cotton

The Amilie Panel Dress in Indigo is made of organic, naturally-dyed and handwoven cotton by our highly skilled artisans at Tohsang Cotton Village.

Our Amilie features multi panel detailing on bodice with a fit and flare shape, creating a sophisticated silhouette for any body types. While contrast stitch detailing gives a modern twist to this day to night piece.

The Story

Our Amilie Panel Dress in Indigo is made of 100% organic cotton, naturally-dyed and handwoven by our highly skill artisans at Tohsang Cotton Village, a small cotton producer in Thailand who ethically sources their cotton by reaching out to local cotton farming communities along the Mekhong River to partner with them,  growing cotton organically along the river bank without extra water needed.

The natural Indigo dye is also produced at Tohsang Cotton Village, where they organically grow and harvest their own Indigo shrubs used in the hand-dyeing process. The dyed cotton yarn is then handwoven on traditional looms sitting at our artisans’ home using little-to-no electricity for the entire fabric making process.

When wearing our clothes, not only does it give you peace of mind about your environmental footprint, but also the people who tailor it too. Our seamstresses are also set up and work from the safety of their own homes. A model that means women of the household can generate income with the freedom of managing their own time.

Fabric Care

To ensure your naturally dyed and handwoven item retains its charm and beauty for many years to come, we recommend the following:

Care

Take care to avoid extreme heat and direct sunlight when drying or storing the product as this may cause colour fading and/or shrinkage. We recommend storing the product in a cool, shaded and dry place at all times.

Cleaning

Dry-clean or hand-wash only. Hand-wash inside out in cool water. Use gentle/low concentration detergent and avoid bleaches, heavy-duty detergents and stain removers. If using machine hand-wash, use a fine-mesh net for extra protection from snagging. Iron inside out on a medium to high heat.

Natural Dye

As with all naturally dyed products, some colour variation within and between items is normal. Naturally dyed products will always bleed slightly so please wash with similar colours (for first 2-3 washes it’s recommended to wash separately).

Handwoven Fabric

All fabrics woven by hand may come with small knots, yarn pulls or short pieces of thread – these irregularities do not affect the quality or future durability of the product. We feel these irregularities only add to the uniqueness and individualism of our products.
